Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Caliper (“we,” operated by an individual based in Israel) collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have. It should be read together with our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information you provide: first and last name, email address, phone number (with country code), username, and password. Passwords are stored only as a salted, hashed value — never in plain text.
- Brokerage & provider connections: the API keys, tokens, or credentials you supply to connect a brokerage or data provider. These are stored encrypted at rest and used only to fetch your data.
- Portfolio data imported from connected accounts on a read-only basis: holdings, balances, transactions, performance, and related account identifiers.
- Investor-profile answers you optionally provide to personalize sell-signals.
- Payment information (if and when paid plans are offered), which is handled by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage & technical data: log data, device/browser information, and similar technical details needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2. Sources of information
We collect information directly from you, automatically as you use the Service, and from the third-party accounts and data providers you choose to connect (for the data you authorize).
3. Why we use it, and our legal bases
We use your information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service — to authenticate you, import and analyze your portfolio, run rankings, valuations, monitoring and research, personalize features you enable, process any subscription, respond to you, and comply with law. Where required, we rely on one or more of these legal bases: performance of a contract with you; your consent (which you may withdraw at any time); our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service and preventing fraud; and compliance with legal obligations. We do not use your personal portfolio data to train AI models.
4. Automated processing and AI
Some features (such as personalized sell-signals and AI-generated research) involve automated processing. These features are informational and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. AI research reports are generated per company from public and market data and are shared across users; your personal holdings are not sent to AI providers to build them.
5. When we share it
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:
- with service providers / sub-processors that help us run the Service (such as hosting, and — for research and data — model and market-data providers), under obligations to protect it and use it only for us;
- with the brokerages and data providers you choose to connect, to fetch your data at your direction;
- where required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public;
- in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), subject to this Policy.
6. International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than where you live, including outside Israel or the European Economic Area, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection for such transfers.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in (an authentication token) and essential cookies to operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Data security
We maintain reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords, encrypting connection credentials at rest, access controls, and scoping each user's data to their own account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. When you delete a connection or your account, the associated data is removed from our active systems, subject to reasonable backup cycles and any legally required retention.
10. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law — including Israel's Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR and other laws — you may have the right to access/inspect the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, request portability, and withdraw consent. You can update your account information, disconnect any provider, and request account deletion at any time. To exercise a right, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority.
11. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time; material changes will be indicated by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by other reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
